I finished glazing these wonderful pieces and now they are heading for firing. My son is an ancient history major and said they looked like amphora vases. I was tickled pink. I will start adding handles to complete the look. I also heard an interesting story about how in ancient times, potters were alway looking for new clay. They even dug holes in the roads in search of clay. This is how we get the word pot hole. Sounded reasonable to me.
I am, also, firing my casserole dish for the first time. I almost threw it out because I thought it was too heavy. It turned out to be a nice piece! It was my first time throwing an altered pieces in sections.
It sound like I will be celebrating Christmas, again.
