Here is an oil painting of the darker side or rather the shadow side
of the Crescent City, California's Battery Point Lighthouse. I wanted to
share the beginning and end stages of this painting style.
I am using a palette knife with oils on an 8"x10" board.

| This is the last stage after reviewing color relationship, comparing, adjusting and adding detail. |
When I look at the differences between stage 1 and the last stage, it even dumbfounds me and I am the painter.
