This is a paint study of the Fair Oaks' Red Bridge that crosses the American River in Northern California. The most difficult part for me was seeing the value difference between the river and the trees. Logically the water should be lighter but I just couldn't see it. Once I grayed it down - as suggested by the instructor - it was much better.

"Red Bridge" Oil Study on Canvas Sheet |
After painting, I had to figure out what to do about dinner. I am a pragmatic cook. This means I use a programmable crock pot, George Foreman Grill and microwave. I tossed two organic chicken breast with half a jar of Trader Joe's Curry Simmering Sauce into the crock pot and programed it for 6 hours on high. Easy and less than 1 minute to fix. That way my wonderful husband has a meal ready when he comes home. I will make a simple salad, microwave bagged vegetables with a little lemon olive oil and he will be happy... which means I will be happy, too.
